Hi everyone!

My name is Miss Sonia. I’m from Spain, from a little town in the north of Catalonia, but I’ve been living in Barcelona for the past few years. I’m a primary education teacher with a specialisation in English and specialised in CLIL methodology. I also have a master degree in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.

I have been working as a teacher in Catalan schools for the past few years, but the desire for new experiences and to continue learning in and from different countries and different educational systems, as I did some years ago in London and Finland, brought me to the Netherlands. So, here I am! I am doing a European Solidarity Corps volunteering project, teaching Spanish and English in different schools. I have been teaching English at De Terp since January and I’m happy to continue this school year.

Being in the Netherlands is a very enriching experience which gives me the chance to  discover Dutch culture and its education system, which is a great source of knowledge as it makes me be aware of another reality and perspective towards education. I am looking forward to continue enjoying this country and meet you at De Terp!

Me llamo Sonia. Soy española, de un pueblecito del norte de Cataluña, pero he estado viviendo en Barcelona estos últimos años. Soy maestra de educación primaria con la especialidad de inglés y especializada en metodología AICLE, también tengo un máster en enseñanza de español como lengua extranjera.

He estado trabajando como maestra en escuelas catalanas durante los últimos años, pero el deseo de vivir una nueva experiencia y seguir aprendiendo de diferentes países y diferentes sistemas educativos, como hice hace unos años en Londres y Finlandia, me ha traído a Países Bajos. Así que, ¡aquí estoy! Estoy haciendo un proyecto de voluntariado del Cuerpo Europeo de Solidaridad, enseñando español e inglés en algunas escuelas. Desde enero enseño inglés en De Terp, y continuaré este curso escolar.

Estar en Países Bajos es una experiencia muy enriquecedora que me está dando la oportunidad de descubrir la cultura neerlandesa y su sistema educativo, lo cual es una gran fuente de conocimiento, ya que me hace ser consciente de otra realidad y perspectiva hacia la educación. ¡Estoy deseando seguir disfrutando de este país y encontrarme con vosotros en De Terp!
