Rachel Whitfield (UK)

Hi everyone! My name is Miss Rachel, I am 20 years and I am a student from the UK. I am originally from North Wales but I go to the University of Sheffield where I study Spanish, Dutch and Music. As I am a languages student, I have come to The Netherlands (for the first time!) for one semester to practice and improve my Dutch. I am then going to Seville in Spain in February for the same reasons but to practice my Spanish! In my spare time, I like to read and do sports and I am looking forward to exploring The Netherlands more during my time here.

I wanted to come and work with Such Fun on my exchange semester as I am considering teaching as a career path so this was a good opportunity to get some experience teaching in different primary schools to see if it is something I could see myself doing in the future. As I am also studying music in my home university, I am excited about all the possibilities of bringing music into the classroom as I know this is something the Such Fun team is already very passionate about!

I will teach at Montessorischool Merlijn, at KC Caleidoscoop, at KC Meander and at LW Beekmanschool, I’ll see you there.

Hoi allemaal! Ik heet Juf Rachel, ik ben 20 jaar en ik ben een student uit Noord Wales maar ik ga naar de universiteit van Sheffield waar ik Spaans, Nederlands en muziek studeer. Omdat ik een talenstudent ben, ben ik dit semester naar Nederland gekomen (ik ben hier voor het eerst!) om mijn Nederlands te verbeteren en te oefenen. Hierna, ga ik in februari naar Sevilla om mijn Spaans te oefenen. In de vrije tijd, houd ik van lezen en sporten en ik heb er zin in om Nederland te ontdekken tijdens mijn tijd hier.

Voor mijn buitenlandstage wilde ik bij Such Fun te werken omdat ik overweeg om na mijn studie in het onderwijs te gaan werken. Het is een goede kans om ervaring op te doen op verschillende basisscholen. Ik studeer ook muziek aan de universiteit (hier heet dat het conservatorium) dus ik verheug me erop om muziek in de Such Fun klassen aan te bieden, want ik weet dat ze bij Such Fun gek zijn op muziek!
