Hello everyone,

My name is Alexandra, I am 20 years old and I am from Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. I am half Spanish and half Scottish, as my mother is Scottish and my father is Spanish. I am currently in my third year of my degree in Primary Education. Alongside my studies, I am an extracurricular English and Spanish teacher.

When I was 16, I started going to the gym and became an elite Powerlifting athlete, winning two national records in the deadlift movement. Unfortunately, due to a hip deformity I was born with, I had to undergo surgery and can no longer practice this sport. However, I discovered swimming, which I now really enjoy.

I am very happy about this opportunity, especially because of the chance to learn about the Dutch educational system and to experience living in a different environment. I am also highly motivated by the opportunity to gain practical teaching experience, as it is my dream to become a teacher.

I will be living in Tilburg for the next six months, and I am really looking forward to enjoying this experience, continuing to learn, and being part of the Such Fun! team. On Tuesday I will teach at KC De Terp with miss Simone, mister Louis and miss Lou and Thursday you can find me at KC Caleidoscoop with mister Aurélien, miss Katie and miss Simone.

Mi nombre es Alexandra, tengo 20 años y soy de Castilla-La Mancha, España. Soy mitad española y mitad escocesa, ya que mi madre es escocesa y mi padre es español. Actualmente estoy en mi tercer año del grado en Educación Primaria. Además de mis estudios, soy profesora extraescolar de inglés y español.

Cuando tenía 16 años empecé a ir al gimnasio y me convertí en una atleta de Powerlifting de élite, logrando dos récords nacionales en el movimiento de peso muerto. Desafortunadamente, debido a una deformidad en la cadera con la que nací, tuve que someterme a una operación y ya no puedo practicar este deporte. Sin embargo, descubrí la natación, que ahora disfruto mucho.

Estoy muy contenta con esta oportunidad, especialmente por la posibilidad de aprender sobre el sistema educativo neerlandés y de experimentar la vida en un entorno diferente. También estoy muy motivada por la oportunidad de adquirir experiencia práctica en la enseñanza, ya que mi sueño es convertirme en profesora.

Viviré en Tilburg durante los próximos seis meses y tengo muchas ganas de disfrutar de esta experiencia, seguir aprendiendo y formar parte del equipo de Such Fun! El martes daré clases en KC De Terp con Simone, Louis y Lou, y el jueves me puedes encontrar en KC Caleidoscoop con Aurélien, Katie y Simone.
