Alice Willett (UK)

Hi!

I am miss Alice, I am 20 years old and I come from a city called Leeds which is in the North of England! In the UK I study Dutch and German at university in Sheffield and I will be teaching English with Such Fun for the first semester as a part of my year abroad! I am really excited to be living in the Netherlands and getting to practice my Dutch- I also can’t wait for Sinterklaas and to be able to sing all the songs we learnt last year at university.

As well as teaching with Such Fun I will also be studying a German course at Radboud university in Nijmegen, which will hopefully help me prepare for the second semester of my Year abroad that I will spend in Germany.

In my free time I love to go for walks and find a nice park bench to read my book, so I’m excited to explore the parks around Den Bosch, although maybe while I am in the Netherlands I will be doing more cycling than walking. I was quite apprehensive about the cycling before I came here but in the three weeks I’ve had my bike I have been loving cycling everywhere- and it’s so flat compared to where I live at home so cycling is not too tiring! I will teach at bs Noorderlicht, at KC Caleidoscoop, at KC Meander and at LW Beekmanschool.

Ik ben juf Alice, ik ben 20 jaar en ik kom uit Leeds in het noorden van Engeland. In het Verenigd Koninkrijk studeer ik Nederlands en Duits aan de universiteit van Sheffield. Ik ga Engels bij  Such Fun geven in mijn eerste semester van mijn jaar in het buitenland!

Ik verheug me er erg op om in Nederland te wonen en mijn Nederlands te oefenen. Ik ook heb veel zin om Sinterklaas te vieren met alle liedjes, die ik vorig jaar heb geleerd. Behalve mijn stage bij Such Fun ga ik ook Duits aan de Radboud universiteit studeren. Hopelijk voel ik me na de Duitse cursus een beetje meer voorbereid voor mijn tweede semester, want dan ga ik in Duitsland wonen. In mijn vrije tijd houd ik ervan te wandelen en op een bankje in het park te zitten om een lekker boek te lezen. Maar misschien zal ik meer fietsen nu ik in Nederland ben! Ik was een beetje bang voor het fietsen voordat ik naar Nederland kwam, maar in de drie weken dat ik nu mijn fiets heb, heb ik ontdekt hoe leuk fietsen eigenlijk is- en Nederland is heel plat in vergelijking met het noorden van Engeland, en dus ook niet zo vermoeiend!

Ik ga lesgeven op bs Noorderlicht, KC Caleidoscoop, KC Meander en de LW Beekmanschool.
