Sylvie Flamingo’s birthday party
Next week the Such Fun-team will perform their new pantomime to groups 1-4 at 11 different schools.
More native speakers than Dutch teachers will perform in the play. We have 3 students from the universities from London, Sheffield and Nottingham who teach at our schools for six months. Alongside the team there are six Year 2 students from Canterbury Christchurch University (UK) who are in Den Bosch for their three week lasting alternative placement.
The story was loosely based upon Sylvie by Jennifer Sattler. For the first time we will have musical accompaniment by Such Fun!-team members.
Sylvie Flamingo is about to invite her friends to her birthdayparty. But she doesn’t know what to wear. She’s fed up with pink!
This means she needs to change her diet. She speaks to bee (and turns yellow), to dragon (and turns green), to her friend Little Red Riding Hood (and turns red) and she turns black and white after meeting cow.
Unfortunately she gets eaten by a monster, but the witch comes to the rescue. It is after so many adventures that Flamingo realizes that she’d rather just be who she is: a shrimp eating flamingo!
